Our Story
Links Choice was founded in 2001 by Steve McMillian and a partner, carrying forward a family tradition started by Steve’s father, Garland McMillian. Garland began recycling golf balls more than 60 years ago and was still pulling balls from lakes and ponds well into his seventies. Steve grew up working alongside his father, learning the art of recovery, recycling, and refinishing from a young age.
From humble beginnings—our first “equipment” was a ringer-style washing machine in the basement—we steadily invested in better tools and technology. As demand grew, we refined our processes, studied how golf balls are made, and developed advanced methods for cleaning, finishing, and printing to meet the highest standards of quality control.
What began as a family project has evolved into a trusted global brand. Through innovation and dedication, Links Choice continues to uphold its founding values: helping the environment, supporting golf courses, and keeping the game affordable for everyone—all while delivering superior products that our partners can depend on.
